Meet Dr. Kimball Mack, DMD
Dr. Kimball Mack is one of the two co-lead dentists at Lamb Family Dental in Boise, alongside Dr. Kyle Pelletier. Known for a measured, conservative approach and a patient-first chairside manner, Dr. Mack is the dentist patients request when they want clear explanations and honest options before committing to any treatment.
Dr. Mack’s Approach
The fastest way to understand Dr. Mack’s approach is to notice what he doesn’t do. He doesn’t push treatment. He doesn’t recommend the highest-ticket option when a smaller fix would do the job. He doesn’t rush through appointments. What he does instead: he takes photos of your teeth on an intraoral camera, shows you exactly what he’s seeing, and walks through the trade-offs of each option, including the option of doing nothing if that’s reasonable for the situation. Patients routinely leave consultations saying, “he didn’t try to sell me anything,” which is exactly the reputation Lamb Family Dental has built since 2003.
Dr. Mack’s signature is his conservatism with enamel. In an era when aggressive cosmetic dentistry is common, he’s the dentist who will tell you that whitening alone will probably solve 80% of your cosmetic goal and that you might not need the veneers you came in asking about. When veneers or crowns are the right call, he removes the minimum amount of tooth structure necessary, no more, to preserve your natural teeth for the long term. That philosophy takes more time and more skill than the alternative, and patients notice the difference.
What Dr. Mack Treats
As a co-lead at a full-service practice, Dr. Mack handles the full range of general, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry:
- General dentistry, cleanings, exams, fillings, root canals, periodontal care, emergency appointments
- Cosmetic dentistry, KöR whitening, porcelain veneers, Invisalign, smile makeovers
- Restorative dentistry, dental implants (planning and placement), crowns, bridges, dentures
- Sedation dentistry, nitrous oxide and oral sedation for anxious patients or long appointments
- Emergency care, same-day slots for broken teeth, severe pain, and dental trauma
Dr. Mack is certified to plan and place dental implants using the practice’s 3D cone beam CT scanner, and he sees implant cases regularly across Boise, Eagle, and Meridian patients. He also handles the practice’s longer, multi-appointment smile makeover cases, coordinating sequencing so each step builds on the last.
Education & Credentials
Dr. Mack earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and has pursued continuing education in general, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry. Specific school, graduating year, and professional-society memberships will be posted here shortly, reach out to the practice for a detailed CV or biography if helpful before an appointment.
What a Visit With Dr. Mack Looks Like
New patient visits with Dr. Mack are 60–90 minutes. Here’s the rough flow:
- Introduction and conversation. Dr. Mack spends time understanding your dental history, what’s gone well, what hasn’t, and what you’re hoping to accomplish. Most first visits open with a conversation, not an exam.
- Comprehensive exam. Tooth-by-tooth visual exam, bite check, periodontal probing, oral cancer screening, and review of digital X-rays.
- Intraoral photos. Dr. Mack takes photos of anything he wants to show you, an old filling that’s starting to fail, a small crack, early-stage gum recession, so you can see what he’s describing.
- Honest findings + options. If something needs attention, you hear about it with options. If nothing needs attention, you hear that too. Dr. Mack is not in the business of finding problems where there aren’t any.
- Treatment plan if wanted. If you want to move forward with anything, he walks through sequencing, timeline, and pricing. No pressure to decide on the spot, most patients take a plan home and think about it for a week before scheduling.
Why Boise Patients Request Dr. Mack
A few patterns show up in patient feedback specifically about Dr. Mack:
- Detailed explanations. Dr. Mack takes time to explain exactly what he’s seeing and why he’s recommending what he’s recommending. No jargon walls, no “trust me.”
- Conservative recommendations. When whitening alone would get you where you want to go, he recommends whitening alone. When a small filling is all a tooth needs, he doesn’t push for a crown.
- Second-opinion friendly. Patients who come to Dr. Mack for second opinions often walk out with a smaller-scope plan than what they were quoted elsewhere.
- Steady on complex cases. Multi-appointment smile makeovers and full-arch implant restorations require patience and attention to detail across multiple visits. That’s Dr. Mack’s wheelhouse.
Scheduling With Dr. Mack
To request Dr. Mack specifically, mention it when you call or select him from the scheduling dropdown online. For same-day emergencies, we match patients to whichever doctor has availability, both Dr. Mack and Dr. Pelletier handle emergency cases with the same gentle approach.
Typical availability for routine cleanings and exams is 2–4 weeks out. Cosmetic and implant consultations often have earlier slots. Free consultation is available for cosmetic or complex-case questions, a short visit to meet Dr. Mack before committing to treatment.
