Dentures in Boise, ID

Dentures replace missing teeth when implants or bridges don’t fit the situation, whether that’s budget, bone volume, or personal preference. Lamb Family Dental offers full dentures, partial dentures, and implant-supported dentures with a careful fitting process that eliminates the slipping, sore spots, and adhesive fuss patients complain about with lower-quality alternatives. Honest pricing. Gentle as a Lamb.

Why Boise Patients Choose Lamb Family Dental for Dentures

A denture works or it doesn’t, and the difference is almost entirely in the fitting. A well-fitted custom denture feels stable, stays in place without aggressive adhesive, and lets you eat most of what you want. A poorly-fitted denture slips during meals, creates sore spots, and usually ends up in a drawer within months. We take the time for multiple try-in visits, adjust during healing, and keep adjusting after delivery until the fit is right.

Custom-Fitted

Multiple impression and try-in visits ensure the final denture actually fits your bite, not a generic average.

Natural Appearance

Premium materials and careful shade matching, dentures that look like teeth, not plastic replacements.

Implant-Supported Options

When slippage and adhesive fatigue are problems, implant-supported dentures snap onto 2–4 implants for rock-solid stability.

Ongoing Adjustments Included

Gums change shape over time. We adjust your denture as needed during the first year at no additional cost.

Types of Dentures We Offer

Full Dentures

A complete set of upper or lower teeth on a pink acrylic base that rests on the gums. Used when all teeth in an arch are missing or need to be removed. Cost range per arch: $1,500–$3,500. Timeline: 4–6 weeks from first impression to final delivery. A temporary “immediate denture” can be placed the same day as any extractions, with a permanent replacement fitted after healing (typically 3–6 months later).

Partial Dentures

For patients missing several teeth but who still have healthy teeth to anchor the partial. A metal or flexible framework clips onto remaining teeth for stability, filling in the gaps with natural-looking replacement teeth. Less expensive than implants for multiple missing teeth when existing teeth are sound. Cost: $1,500–$3,000 depending on complexity.

Implant-Supported Dentures (Snap-On)

A denture that snaps onto 2–4 dental implants via precision attachments. Eliminates the slippage and adhesive fuss of traditional dentures. Removable for cleaning. Much more stable, you can eat, speak, and smile without the constant awareness of whether the denture is going to shift. Cost: $5,000–$15,000 per arch including implants.

All-on-4 Fixed Implant Bridge (Not Removable)

Not technically a denture, it’s a permanent fixed prosthesis anchored to 4 implants. Looks and functions like natural teeth. More expensive than snap-on dentures but more comfortable long-term. Cost: $20,000–$30,000 per arch. See our dental implants page for full All-on-4 details.

The Denture Fitting Process

  1. Consultation. Dr. Mack or Dr. Pelletier evaluates your remaining teeth (if any), the shape of your gums, and your bite. We discuss options, full, partial, implant-supported, and recommend the right fit for your situation.
  2. Extractions (if needed). Any teeth that need to be removed are extracted. If you’re getting a full denture, we can provide an immediate temporary denture the same day so you’re never without teeth.
  3. Healing time. For patients who had extractions, we wait 3–6 months for gums and bone to stabilize before fitting a permanent denture. Gums change shape significantly during healing; a denture fitted too early won’t fit long.
  4. Impressions and bite records. Multiple precision impressions of your gums plus bite records go to the dental lab for fabrication.
  5. Try-in visit. Before the final denture is processed, we try in a wax setup with the planned tooth arrangement. You preview the look and feel, shade, shape, lip support, smile line. Adjustments happen here before the lab commits to final production.
  6. Delivery. Final denture is delivered. We check fit, bite, and comfort. Minor adjustments are made on the spot.
  7. Adjustment visits. You’ll return 1–3 times in the first month for minor comfort adjustments as your gums settle around the new denture. All included in the original fee.

Are Dentures Right for You?

Good candidates:

  • Missing all or most teeth in one or both arches
  • Insufficient bone for implants and unwilling or unable to do bone grafting
  • Budget constraints that make full-arch implants (All-on-4) unreachable
  • Preference for a removable, easy-to-clean prosthesis

When we recommend alternatives: Patients missing only one or two teeth (a dental bridge or single implant usually fits better). Patients with adequate bone and budget who want fixed teeth that feel most natural (implants or All-on-4). Patients with active gum disease (treat the gums first).

Frequently Asked Questions About Dentures

How much do dentures cost in Boise?

Traditional full dentures in Boise typically cost $1,500 to $3,500 per arch. Partial dentures run $1,500–$3,000. Implant-supported snap-on dentures (denture plus 2–4 implants) are $5,000–$15,000 per arch. All-on-4 fixed bridges are $20,000–$30,000 per arch. Insurance coverage varies by type and plan.

How long do dentures last?

Traditional dentures typically last 5–10 years. They’ll need to be relined (reshaped to fit gums that have changed) every 2–3 years and usually replaced after a decade as the bone underneath continues to resorb. Implant-supported dentures last longer, 7–15 years for the denture portion, with the underlying implants designed to last a lifetime.

Will dentures change how I talk and eat?

There’s a learning period. Most patients adapt to traditional dentures within 2–6 weeks, speech returns to normal and they can eat most foods with care (avoiding very hard or sticky items). Implant-supported dentures have less adjustment period because stability is much better. Traditional dentures may require practice reading aloud to fine-tune pronunciation.

Do I need implants to get stable dentures?

Not necessarily. A well-fitted traditional denture is stable enough for most patients. Patients who struggle with slippage, sore spots, or adhesive fatigue with traditional dentures often upgrade to implant-supported versions, the 2–4 implants dramatically improve stability. We recommend implants when budget allows and when bone volume is sufficient; we go traditional when those conditions aren’t met.

How long does the denture process take?

About 4–6 weeks from first impression to final delivery for a straightforward denture. Cases that involve extractions require 3–6 months of healing before a permanent denture is fitted. An immediate denture can be placed the same day as extractions as a temporary while gums heal.
