Are you happy with your smile? Do you know there are simple measures you can take to have white smile you have always wanted?
Whitening your teeth is one of the most inexpensive ways to dramatically enhance your smile. The goal of whitening is to make your teeth as white as they can ever be naturally without harming or changing the teeth’s structure. At Lamb Family Dental, we offer various tooth whitening options, either in-office or at-home to help you achieve the look that you want. These treatments are safe, convenient and produce immediate results.
In-Office Teeth Whitening
Our experienced dentists will take a shade measurement of your teeth before the procedure begins. This provides a benchmark to gauge improvement after teeth whitening. Once this benchmark has been determined, the whitening process will take place. Your teeth will be polished. A cheek retractor will be placed in your mouth to expose all the teeth that are visible when you smile. Your gums and lips will be covered to protect them from the bleaching gel.The special whitening gel is then applied to the teeth. This process may take up to 10 minutes.
The gel releases an active ingredient (hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide) in the mouth. You can then rinse your mouth out with water. Lastly your teeth are polished again. Teeth bleaching will take place in three to four 15 to 20 minutes sessions to acquire the desired appearance.
At-Home Teeth Whitening
You can whiten your teeth effectively with an at-home whitening system. This is the traditional way teeth were whitened, and will get your teeth between 90% to a 100% of their whitening potential. This is a two appointment procedure. We first take impressions of your teeth to make customized trays to fit over your teeth. Next, you return to receive your whitening trays and gel. You put a drop of gel into each tooth on the tray, and wear the trays for approximately 30 to 50 minutes each day until all the whitening gel is used. You will start to notice a dramatic difference in about a week. The entire process takes approximately four to five weeks to complete leaving you with a beautiful white smile.

Why Do Teeth Discolor?
Many factors contribute to the discoloration process such as aging and lifestyle. Drinking coffee, colas, red wine, smoking – even taking certain medications – can make your smile look dull and less attractive. However, at Lamb Family Dental, we can help you achieve the smile you always wanted.
